A gingerbread farm

December 22, 2015

I made a gingerbread farm! As a final touch to the party I decided to create a replica of our family farm out of gingerbread. I baked all the gingerbread last week and my little brother and put put together and decorated the houses on Saturday.

Look! We even have a windmill made out of pretzels.

I also made some cupcakes to serve our guests.

My Christmas shopping list

December 19, 2015

No, no, this is not a blogpost about what I’m buying other people. I wanted to start this blog off with a post that totally represented the spontaneity that I’m looking to bring across. So, I’m going to tell you what’s on my grocery shopping list and every other Christmas essential (minus the gifts) that I know.

Something you will soon realize if you continue reading this blog is that I often take on way more projects than I can handle. This weekend I’m having a Christmas party and my current list of food items that I will be making (all of which I will make tomorrow) include:

these adorable gingerbread mittens with this recipe

this cake but in cupcake form

this delicious quiche (that is so easy to make)

-a simple salad

-ahhh I’m so excited for these donuts

this spinach frittata

-and I will serve some fruit and cheese

Do you think that’s enough food for 29 people??

Another thing that I love during the holidays are Christmas cards. In addition to sending photo cards to hundreds of people I also send cards with handwritten notes to a few selected people that really mean a lot to me. (Incase you’re wondering, the cards pictured above are from Rifle Paper Co.)
